Profile of Mr Mark Tan

Just turned 55 years old and excited as ever. I am very happy to create the “Are U Hungry ?” Facebook group and had since positioned as a Community so that I can work with many like-minded people to do collaboration work, one by one, we all grow together as ONE BIG Family. From Home Chef to Foodie Bloggers, it was so interesting and profounding and fulfilling to see many like minded people that make me believe that so long as U can commit to working it, it can surely be done. Its through their shared works, I realised that we do have many things in common : Passion, desire to do well, keeping up with the many great work U may have done and the satisfaction of completing one’s project work/ culinary/ blogging article etc.

As I created the website of ‘Are U Hungry?” from ground zero, building content day by day… also a steep learning curve since graduated with a professional diploma in “Digital Marketing”, I realised that to harness the potential of Internet/ Social Media, I have to be deeply involved in every day work, knowing the trend, to listen and watch how the social media evolved can be daunting and always tell myself that so long as your conscious is clear, nothing can literally stop U.

@ Are U Hungry? I do my best to develop, grow talent, “be the best in what U do and do it well” has been my driving force. Giving opportunity to people and give ownership and be responsible, that’s where U build the people and rally together, collaborate with them well. Keep the fire in us, burning with zest ! Build teams and empower, support, motivate them accordingly. Gain their mutual respect and grow with them. In many instances, I am their Mentor, friends, buddy…

On Foodie Blogging, everybody has their own unique way of writing, presenting, structure, story telling abilities. To each his/her own ! Give due credit when its due. My utmost respect to the many friendships made with Hawkers, Business Owners, Merchants, Restaurants, Cafes, Shop, stalls etc. The journey with them has been an arduous and eye opening in many instances. The creation of a successful dish has been amazing as I loved to watch, observe from a short distance how they cook, blanch, frying, presentation etc. its always so endearing when they get featured in the documentary in our TV programme. Thus, Blogging and eating has been my 1st love; followed by cooking for my own family, as they become my best critics.

So, as I create the mini series within + Collaborate with many different people – Elite Stars Home Chef + Stars Bloggers + HBB owners + engaging readers. I hope to continue to gain your trust, faith and support in the programming and to my teams’. God Bless ! Thank you !
